Hi there,
I hope your summer is off to a lovely start. We’ll be in and out of DC over the next couple of months, with trips sprinkled in to visit family and friends. We’re wrapping up the season with a visit to Maine — neither Johnny nor I have ever been, and we’re so excited to finally visit. If you have any favorite spots or must-do’s, I’d love to hear!
With three little ones at home, I’m leaning into the flexibility that comes with being an artist. My goal this summer is to embrace a slower pace — attempting Priyanka Mattoo’s, “chill mom summer,” — less rushing, less screen time, and more space for presence, both with my family and work.
I’ve also been feeling a pull back toward the things that ground and inspire me — and this newsletter is one of them. I’m excited to be sharing more regularly again, with a mix of personal updates, new work, and the artists and images that are currently sparking something for me.
Lately, I’ve been in a really beautiful flow in the studio. I’m working on a new series that’s all about capturing those fleeting, meaningful moments — the ones that make summer feel both endless and impossibly quick. I’ll be releasing a small collection called Hold onto Summer in late July or early August, and I can’t wait to share more soon.
Whether you're traveling or staying close to home, I hope these months offer you a chance to slow down, look around, and soak up the beauty that’s still all around us — even in the midst of the chaos. I’ll be sharing more often what’s inspiring me and look forward to reconnecting with you as the season unfolds.
So grateful you're here—and thankful to be seeking inspiration alongside you,
Tara
